Valerian I - Victory Germania

A rough Valerian antoninianus with a scarcer reverse that's in my Rome in Germany series. Valerian was captured by the Sasanians and spent the rest of his days as a 'guest'. Struck ~ 255 A.D. More to follow...
OB: IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS P F AVG
Rx: Victory standing left leaning on shield; VICTOR(IA) GERM
For a great history of the era involving Gallienus, Valerian, and the Sassanians see this Numiswiki article at this: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/numiswiki/view.asp?key=The%20Age%20of%20Gallienus
