Maximinus Thrax - Victoria Germanica

Caius Julius Verus Maximinus (A.D. 235-238). He was a Thracian of peasant background; a huge man that worked his way up the ranks under Septimius Severas & Severus Alexander. He campaigned against the Germans with great success and this sestertius celebrates the victory.
