This terra-cotta small statue was discovered at the Centro de las Mesas, a location in the state of Veracruz. It represents the God of Fire, an elderly man carrying a brazier on his head. It was sculptured with outstanding realism, showing the cultural bonds between the Totonaca and Teotihuacan civilizations by blending elements of both cultures.
Unusual in that this Type II shows a higher mintage than the Type I in Proof (2650 vs. 1500).
